Monika earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, followed by a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2017. With over a decade of experience as a mental health provider in various settings, she brings a wealth of diverse experience to her practice.

As the owner of Hicks Consulting PLLC, Monika practices as an independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee. Her services include individual counseling, virtual support groups, and community and organizational workshops. Balancing her roles as a career woman, wife, mother, and ministry leader, Monika is particularly passionate about supporting African American women who identify as “A Strong Black Woman.” Grounded in her strong Christian faith, she feels called to uplift and support individuals through times of transition. Monika is affectionately known as a mindset shifter.

Using Solution Focused Therapy, Monika’s practice is dedicated to helping those experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and the challenges of balancing multiple responsibilities. She is committed to destigmatizing mental health and counseling by creating therapeutic safe spaces.

Beyond her professional commitments, Monika is a devoted wife and mother of two. In her free time, she enjoys international travel, trying new restaurants, and dancing like no one is watching.
